Our spring ARTeens session is starting soon!
ARTeens is an after-school program where teens hang out and MAKE ART! We supply prompts each week for inspiration, but you are always encouraged/welcome to work on whatever YOU want to work on.

ARTeens meets weekly on Tuesday OR Thursday afternoons from after school until 6pm. Art supplies and healthy snacks are always included.

Program begins the week of Tuesday, April 15 and runs through Thursday, June 5. ARTeens does NOT meet the week of school break, April 22nd & 24th.

Late applications are taken until the program is full.
ARTeens is an after school program for teens who love making art!
It provides an opportunity for teens to cultivate an art practice
in The Art Garden’s supportive
& intergenerational studio.

With an emphasis on personal responsibility and self-direction,
teens explore and critique the world around them, develop their own voices,
and share their ideas.

ARTeens offers a sense of community while nurturing uniqueness and engagement in a diverse and
non-judgmental group.

The ARTeens program supports teens in developing skills for a lifelong journey as artists.

ARTeens share their skills, creativity and perspectives with an intergenerational community through Art Garden internships and volunteer opportunities.
ARTeens is a pay-what-you-can program. Every contribution helps make the program possible!

No one is ever turned away for lack of funds.

ARTeens was co-developed by Phyllis Labanowski and
Jane Beatrice Wegscheider.
Phyllis and Jane co-facilitated
the program for its first six years.
ARTeens is currently co-facilitated by Jane and Laura Iveson.
ARTeens is supported in part by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, which receives support from the State of Massachusetts and the National Endowment for the Arts.
